App images can be uploaded in PNG or JPG format. For optimum quality, we recommend PNG files.
The majority of images are either a standard 3:2 or 2:3 ratio, and for most content sections you will need images that are 1200x800 pixels (WxH).
There are some sections with specific image size requirements, for optimum quality please use the exact image sizes specified below.
Background Image
Background images are used on Welcome Screens as well as other modules.
Note: all themes support a customer welcome screen image.
Image Sizes for Menus, Pages and Navigation Buttons
All images should be 1200 x 800 pixels (3:2 ratio). They will be resized automatically for each page/button.
Above are examples of where the images appear throughout the Tapendium solution
Side image sizes for Room Service, Gift Shop and Guest Service
Room Service, Gift Shop and Guest Service Side images should be at least 800x1200px
How do I resize images?
It is important to upload images into Admin Portal in the correct ratio and size. This ensures the images display correctly on the tablet screens.
To resize images you will need software that allows you to do this, such as Adobe Photoshop or free online image editing tools such as Pixlr or PicMonkey.
For size requirements for images throughout Tapendium solution see What are size requirements for images?
It is also very important to crop images that are the wrong shape or ratio, rather than just changing the dimensions. If you change the dimensions to change the shape of an image, it would appear stretched.
You should always be using high-resolution images. If you try to enlarge a low-resolution image, it would be poor quality and look blurry on the tablet screens. Start with images that are larger than you require.
Resizing images with Photoshop
Use File/Open in Photoshop to browse your network or computer and open the original image you want to resize.
Step 1: Crop the image
Crop the image to the size you need. In this care, we are making a 1200x800 pixel image. If you use WxH Resolution, Photoshop will crop and resize the image for you.
Step 2: Save the resized image with a new file name and in PNG file format.
