What permissions does an Order Viewer have ?

If a user is assigned as an Order Viewer only, they do not need to log in after a timeout.

Tapendium recommends that users who are managing orders be granted only the Order viewer permission.
How do I set up a user as an Order viewer ?
Order Viewers have the important task of managing guest orders on the Tapendium.
It is important that the Order Viewer is set up correctly, as incorrect settings may lead to missed orders.
There are two ways to configure settings for Order Viewers.
Method 1: From Edit User Window
Step 1:
Open the edit user window from the User’s view screen (Manage → Site Admin → Users)
Then Click on the edit icon to open the Edit user window.
Step 2:
In the edit user window, when the Order Viewer box ix checked, the Order Viewer settings options are displayed. These can be configured for optimal management of guest orders.
The Order Viewer settings and configuration notification details are provided below.

Default Order View: defines the default view the Order Viewer will see. This can be changed depending on the requirements.

Play Sound: Checking this box plays a sound alert the user to take action.

Repeat After: This can be used to set the notifications at intervals of 1 to 10 minutes.

Display pop-up box: Checking this enables a pop-up box to alert the user to take action.

Order View and Alert View control: If you wish, you may give the user control over notifications.

It is highly recommended that a user set up as a Order Viewer does have any other roles set.

If the user has multiple roles. For example Order Viewer and Room Service Manager, the risk of missing orders gets introduced and sessions time out.
Method 2: From the Order View Screen
Step 1:
Open the Order View screen (Order Viewer→ Settings → Order Viewer Settings)
This will only be enabled if Order View and Alert View control is checked in Edit User window. Check Order Notifications for further details.
Step 2:
Google Chrome notifications permission window must be allowed to allow pop-ups from the Tapendium site.
Orders Require Attention - multiple order notification
New Order Received window - single order notification
If a single new order can been received and needs attention, this pop-up notification appears in the bottom right hand corner of the Order Viewer users screen.
If the user clicks on this notification, the Manage Order window opens where the user can manage the order.
