Overview of Menu Tab
A Menu Tab refers to a Menu that appears at the top of the tablet Room Service screen.
Creating a Menu Tab is the first step in creating a Menu, and you add Categories, Option Types, Options and then menu Items after that.

How do I add a new Menu?
This article will demonstrate how to add a new Menu to Tapendium. Before doing this for the first time you should read the article on how the process flows in Overview of Room Service
Step 1: Click on Add Menu Tab to start creating a new Menu
Step 2: Enter Menu details

Name: The name of the Menu Tab. When Active this will appear in the Menu Tabs at the top of the tablet screen.

Status: Set to Active for it to appear immediately, or Inactive to make it available at some other time.

Menu start and expiry settings: For a limited time only Menus. (Example: Christmas Lunch. The menu will be Active from midnight on the start date until midnight on the Expiry Date)

Select Group: For controlling the content that appears for specific guest groups.
Examples following:-
Conference groups - make an itinerary available to just that group

Special guests - show extra content for Executive floor rooms

Testing - deploy content for testing before roll-out

Room layout - provide relevant room information, if some rooms have different amenities or features. For instance, if some rooms have a dishwasher, make the dishwasher manual available on the tablet for only those rooms.

Description: A short description of the Menu Tab. This description will appear under the Menu Tab on the tablet screen. You should add any extra information about the menu and the times available here.

Time From and Time Go: Controls the times the menu is available for orders. Guests cannot place an order outside of those times. The menu will always be visible on the device, but the guest will be not able to place orders from it outside these times. *Select Full Day to make menu available for orders at all times.

Full-Day: Enable the items on a menu to be available at all times. The menu will always be available for orders.

Use Breakfast Delivery Times: Enables the selection of delivery time. The guest will be prompted to select a delivery time for their order. Delivery times are set in the Room Service Settings section. You should select Full Day for breakfast menu tabs here so that the guest can place the order at any time. They will then be able to select the actual delivery time when confirming the order. *Note that if you select this option the guest will not be able to mix items from this menu tab with items from another tab. This is to prevent a guest from ordering items from non-breakfast menus and then requesting they be delivered at breakfast times.

Menu Side Image: Upload an image that will appear on the side when a menu is displayed. Each Menu can have a different side image, as in the example below.

How do I change the position of a Menu Tab?
You can change the order of Menu Tabs that appear at the top of the tablet screens.
Click on Change Position
Change the order by dragging and dropping containers
