What is the difference between a Menu Layout and a Page Style?

A Menu Layout displays and organises the Pages in a Content Module.

There are different Menu Layouts for each of the Content Modules: Promotions, What’s On and Information. Menu Layouts are set up during the adding or editing of a Content Module. Page Styles define how the content is presented on the tablet - the colours, fonts, placement of images and general layout of information.

There are Page Style options for Pages in the Promotions and What’s On Modules only.

What changes can I make to design layouts and page styles?

The Tapendium solution provides a flexible and customisable platform for guest services. However, there are limitations to design changes that can be made to the app.

Here we would like to clarify the level of difficulty of changing different components.

Requests to make changes in the difficult category may incur charges if requested after the initial installation phase.

Areas that are easy to change

These areas can be managed by you or by Tapendium support. Updates are instantly available in the app:

• All images, including backgrounds in most themes (some themes have a fixed pattern or colour background on some pages).

• All content text and most app pop-up messages.

• Layout of Information, Promotions and What’s On Menus and Pages, if selected from existing templates.

Areas that are more difficult to change

These will usually require assistance from the Tapendium team but can typically be completed quickly and will appear in the app instantly:

• Colours and styles of Information, Promotions and What’s On Menus and Pages (includes colour and style of labels, text and backgrounds).

Areas that are difficult to change

• Welcome, and Navigation page layout and design - These changes are difficult as they require a design and approval ss and an app update. After the initial installation, we will usually charge fees for changes to the Welcome and Navigation page layout.

• Top Menu Bar colour and style throughout the app are difficult to change.

• Room Service and Guest Service layout - Both are key modules in the Tapendium Solution and the layout is not customisable

• Promotions, What’s On and Information page layout and styles - we are in continuous development for these pages so they may become available free of charge at later dates. If you have any ideas about menu and page layouts you would like to see, please let us know.
