The Navigation Screen
The Navigation screen appears after the Welcome Screen and is how users find information on the tablet using the Tapendium solution.
The Navigation buttons are set up in the Admin Portal and linked to each active Module. See How do I add a navigation button?
The position of the buttons on the Navigation screen can be changed as required. See How do I change the order of the navigation buttons?
Navigation buttons link users to content in any Module, for example, Room Service, Guest Services, Information, or What’s On or Promotions.
Navigation buttons can also be linked directly to an external website (URL), to a Page in a Promotions Module or to a Full Page.

What are the positions of the Navigation Buttons?
The Available position of the Navigation Buttons are ordered by the numbers as follow

Position 1 and 2 with this Navigation screen design are fixed (Example: Room Service & Guest Service)

Position 3 onwards can scroll up and down if more than 8 buttons are visible.
Different designs have different navigation functionality, but generally, the positioning of buttons follows this logical pattern.
**There is no limit to the number of buttons that can be created on the Navigation screen. 2
How do I add a Navigation button?
Navigation Buttons appear on the tablet screen for users to select content and browse information.
You can easily change the position of the Navigation buttons on the tablet screen after you have created the buttons. Visit How do I change the order of the navigation buttons?
Step 1: Navigation to Admin Portal > Content Management > Navigation. Click on Add Button.
Step 2: Select AppScreen. And Enter details

Type

AppScreen: Module windows (i.e Room Service, Guest Service, What’s On)

URL: external website

Request: Users can select direct requests (i.e. Make up my room)

Title: This title will appear on the Navigation button on the tablet screen.

Module Type: User can select Module that's already created (i.e Gift Shop)

Select Image: Choose an image to display on the button. It should be 1200x800 pixels in size.

Select/Exclude Group: You have the option of choosing a specific Location Group that this button is visible or excluding specific groups from viewing the module.

Start and Expiry Date: You have the option of setting a time frame for which the button is visible.

Status: Active or Inactive. If Inactive, the button will not appear on tablet screens.

How do I link a navigation button to an Information Module?
Navigation Button appears on the tablet screens for users to select content and browse information. For more info, see How do I add a navigation button? This could also apply to
Add Navigation Button
Step 1: Navigate in Admin Portal>Content Management>Navigation>Add Button. Then select an Information Type Module that has been created.
Step 2: Click Save
Edit Navigation Button
Step 1: Navigate in Admin Portal>Content Management>Navigation. Click on the Edit icon of the selected existing Module. Then select an Information Type Module that has been created.
Step 2: Click Save
How do I link a navigation button to a Page in a Promotions Module?
Navigation Buttons appear on the tablet screens for users to select content and browse information. For more info on adding Navigation Button click here.
You can link a Navigation Button to any Module in the Tapendium solution. With the Promotions Module, you are additionally able to link directly to a content Page.
Step 1: Navigate in Admin Portal>Content Management>Navigation>Add Button. Then select a Promotional Type Module that has been created.
Step 2: Select Module and Content Pages. (Additional Modules should be created prior to setting up the button. See Content Management for more info)
Step 3: Click Save.
How do I link a navigation button to a Full Page?
With the Full Page module, you are able to link directly to a content Page.
Step 1: Navigate in Admin Portal>Content Management>Navigation>Add Button. Then select a Full Page Type Module that has been created previously.
Step 2: Select the Module of your choice. (Full Pages should be created previously prior to setting up the button. See Content Management for more info)
Step 3: Click Save.
How do I link a navigation button to a What’s On Module?
Step 1: Navigate in Admin Portal>Content Management>Navigation>Add Button. Then select a What’s On Type Module that has been created previously.
Step 2: Click Save.
How do I link a Navigation button to an external website?
Step 1: Navigate in Admin Portal>Content Management>Navigation>Add Button. Then select Type as URL.
Step 2: Enter the Title of the website and URL address.
Step 3: Click Save.
How do I change the order of the navigation buttons?
You can easily change the order of the Navigation buttons on the Navigation page through Admin Portal.
Step 1: Navigate in Admin Portal>Content Management>Navigation. Click Change Position.
Step 2: Click and move the rows to the position desired.
Step 3: Click Save.
How do I delete a Navigation button?
Step 1: Navigate in Admin Portal>Content Management>Navigation. Click the edit icon of the selected button.
Step 2: Make button Inactive. Click Save.
Step 3: Once the button is made Inactive. The delete icon would appear. Click the Delete icon.
Step 4: Click Okay to confirm deletion.
