How do I set user permissions?
The permissions set in the Permissions section of the Admin Portal are set up by Tapendium during installation and are read only. If custom permissions are required, please contact Tapendium Support at support@tapendium.com
User roles are listed in the drop down menu. Choosing a role brings up the permission settings for that role.
Standard Roles
Roles for an user can be added or removed from 'User Management'. The different roles are given below.
Admin: Can view and manage all settings and content for a hotel. This role is required to manage users.
Alert Viewer: Can view/manage alerts.
Beta App Testing: Can install Beta Tapendium Apps.
Content Admin:
Can view/add/edit/delete Navigation buttons.
Can view/edit Welcome message.
Can view/add/edit/delete What’s On Categories, Items.
Can view/add/edit/delete Information pages.
Can view/add/edit/delete Custom CMS pages (promotions, restaurants etc)
Content manager:
Can view/add/edit Welcome message.
Can view/add/edit What’s On Items.
Can view/add/edit Information pages.
Can view/add/edit Custom CMS pages (promotions, restaurants etc)
Device Admin:
Can view/add/edit Locations (rooms and room groups)
Can view/add/edit/delete Devices.
Device Manager:
Can view/edit Locations.
Can view/add/edit Devices.
Gift Shop Admin:
Can manage all Gift Shop settings and messages.
Can view/add/edit/delete Menus, Categories, Items, Options.
Gift Shop Manager: Can view/edit, Options.
Gift Service Admin:
Can view/edit/delete Items.
Can view/edit/delete Categories.
Guest Service Manager:
Can view/edit Items.
Can view Categories.
Internet Admin: Can manage Internet Plans and settings.
Order Viewer:
Can view/manage Orders.
Users who have only Order Viewer permission are not required to login after a timeout period.
If any additional permissions are added to an Order Viewer user then they are subject to the default timeout and login process.
Tapendium recommends that users who are managing orders be granted only the Order Viewer permission.
Reporter: Can view Reports.
Room Service Admin:
Can manage all Room Service settings and messages.
Can view/add/edit/delete Menus, Categories, Items, Options.
Room Service Manager:
Can manage Peak Order message and settings.
Can view/edit Items, Options.
How do I view User Permissions?
Step 1: The permissions set in the Permissions section of the Admin Portal are set up by Tapendium during installation and are read-only. For custom permissions, contact Tapendium support.
Selecting a role will bring up the permission setting for that role.
Step 2: Selecting a particular role will bring up the corresponding permissions settings.
What user permissions are available in a trial installation?
Trial installations have restricted user permissions listed below.
Room Service Manager
Can manage peak order message and settings.
Can view/edit items, options.
Guest Service manager
Can view/edit/delete items.
Can view categories.
Content Manager
Can view/edit Welcome Message.
Can view/add/edit What’s On Items.
Can view/add/edit Information pages.
Can view/add/edit Custom CMS pages (promotions, restaurants etc.)
Device Manager
Can view/edit Locations.
Can view/edit Devices.
Reporter
Can view reports.
Order Viewer
Can view/manage Orders.
What permissions does an Order Viewer have?
